IIPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, is a non-invasive, broad-spectrum light treatment that targets specific areas of the skin to improve its appearance. Unlike lasers, which use a single wavelength, IPL emits a range of wavelengths to address various skin concerns, making it a versatile treatment.
The duration of an IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) session can vary depending on the size of the treatment area and the specific settings used. Generally, an IPL session for hair removal can last anywhere from a few minutes for smaller areas such as the upper lip or underarms, to around 30 minutes or more for larger areas like the legs or back.
IPL for Back Acne will take about 30-45 minutes depending on extraction time and IPL for spots and pigmentation (as an add on to facial treatments) will take about 10-15 minutes.
The number of IPL treatment sessions needed to see results can vary depending on factors such as the individual's skin type, hair colour, and the area being treated.
However, most people typically require multiple sessions spaced several weeks apart to achieve optimal results.
For hair removal, it's common to undergo anywhere from 6 to 8 sessions, with noticeable reduction in hair growth becoming apparent after the first few sessions.
For back acne treatment, noticeable improvements can be seen after the first session; however, we recommend completing six sessions for optimal and lasting results.
However, do note that individual results may vary, and some people may require more or fewer sessions to achieve their desired outcome.
The level of discomfort experienced during IPL treatment can vary from person to person and depends on factors such as individual pain tolerance, and the sensitivity of the treated area.
Most individuals find IPL treatment to be relatively tolerable, especially when compared to more invasive procedures like laser hair removal.
In general, there is minimal to no downtime associated with IPL treatment. Most people are able to resume their normal activities immediately after their session.
